Greetings Friends
We now have over 120,000 high res images on the site available for you. We continue to add fresh destination coverage and are always on the look out for textbook oriented editorial content. I know how hard it is to find some textbook content and am doing my best to help that segment of our client’s needs as well.
You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve just added a new Date Range that you can enter, when searching for images! See Dave’s Tech Update column for more details on this helpful new feature!
I’m delighted to see so many new clients registering on our website from many different segments of the industry. With the abundance of content and easy search technology that we offer, including Visual Search, more and more of you are coming from all over the globe, working on an array of projects that we’re happy to help with! The one consistent comment that we get from nearly everybody is “…you have the best travel site out there!” and “…your site is so easy to use because it’s uncomplicated!” All I can say is “Thank You!” It’s nice to know our efforts are appreciated!
After a very busy few months, I’m happy to say that although I’ve been on the road a lot, it’s given me some great opportunities! It was wonderful meeting up with so many of you at the ASPP Education Conference in San Francisco in March, or Picture House in Chicago in April. Both of those venues are a great place to connect with colleagues both buyers and sellers alike! If you’re not a member of ASPP, American Society of Picture Professionals, I highly recommend that you join! It’s such a well rounded membership that it gives us opportunities to hear from a diverse membership, with one common goal—working with exceptional images in one form or another. Go to the ASPP Website for more information. It also addresses the on-going changes within our industry and helps keep us current with what’s happening out there!
For those of you familiar with NANPA, North American Nature Photography Association, I attended that conference in February as well. It’s always a wonderful way to meet nature and wildlife photographers from all over the globe, many of whom are represented on my website.
We’ve worked very hard over the last few years and we’re so pleased that we’re able to help with so many diverse projects! With such keen competition and pricing models out there, just know that we do our best to accommodate your budgets. Just give us a call if you have special pricing needs that you need to discuss. Thanks for keeping us in mind for your photo needs and most of all, thanks for your on-going business!
All the best to you and happy editing!
-Danita
Dave Herbig Elected Treasurer of PACA
Dave Herbig was recently elected as the new Treasurer for PACA, the Picture Archive Council of America. This will provide Danita Delimont Stock Photography high level contact with industry trends and important happenings. For example, the “Orphaned Works” legislation currently before Congress is being closely watched by the PACA Board. Dave is monitoring the discussions between the PACA attorney and other lobbying efforts aimed at protecting the stock photo business from some of the potential problems that could result from passage of this legislation.
PACA positions are volunteer jobs and the existing board members were very relieved when Dave agreed to volunteer. They look forward to having someone with business training and strategic vision on the Board of Directors. One of his first goals is to streamline the accounting function using web enabled accounting software. Another is to dramatically reduce conference call costs by using internet conference calling providers.
A Note About Downloading
Safari and Firefox frequently exhibit problems with image downloading, especially when using Mac OS X. As developers everywhere have not been able to solve these issues, we recommend switching to Microsoft Internet Explorer if you are experiencing problems with Firefox or Safari.
