    Since oil and gas is so much in the news, I thought it would be timely to feature some of the pristine beauty of ANWR. Drilling for oil in the Refuge is such a controversial subject. As we know, many people are unaware of the diversity of species there, so I thought I’d give you a little show and tell from some of my photographers who have spent time in this remote wilderness.

    We are fortunate to have so many talented photographers being recognized for their various achievements. The BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is a coveted competition and we have many winners from different categories over the years, as part of our team. Most recently, Kristin Mosher, who is based at Jane Goodall’s Gombe reserve in Tanzania won in the Animal Behavior category.

    Have you ever had a project that you do year after year? Or even every month? Do you get tired of seeing the same images for the same search every time? Now you can select the range of newest images you wish to see, thus filtering out the photos you saw the last time you did that same search.

    I’d like to share with you some of the talented photographers whom I represent, that have always considered photography their avocation while working fulltime in another career. Upon retiring, however, they’ve found the time and commitment to seriously take on their photography passion in a new light. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about their backgrounds as well as viewing their extraordinary images!

    Charles Crust - "In my previous life, I devoted the lion’s share of my energies toward aerospace management, which, while busy and productive, wasn’t enough to satisfy the creative force within me and, I strongly suspect, in everyone else as well." More on Charles

    Bernie Friel - Bernie is a retired lawyer and a former partner in the Twin Cities law firm of Briggs and Morgan where, for many years, he headed the municipal bond department of the firm. More on Bernie

    Charles Sleicher - After serving in the Navy, getting a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1955, working in the oil industry for four years, and going to Cambridge, England, on an NSF post- doctoral fellowship, Charles joined the Unversity of Washington as a professor in 1960.     Jerry Ginsberg - Jerry has had a life-long love affair with cameras and photography beginning long before he joined the Reagan revolution in the late 1970’s. Jerry continued working with President Reagan through the end of his first term. In 1984, When AT&T broke up, Ginsberg got involved in the burgeoning competitive telecommunication’s industry...     Danita was recently interviewed by Jim Hunter, on-line Editor of a new stock photography website called StockPhotographer.info. In the interview, he asked some pointed questions on her experience over the 25 years that she’s been working in the industry and her interpretation of how it’s evolved and will continue to transition in the near future.
