210,000 and Growing
As the lazy, hazy days of summer progress, we
continue to process more and more images to
our website all the time. As many of you
know, we have a great staff with all kinds of
digital imaging skills. Thus, our work flow
for uploading images is going much quicker
now. At last count, we had 210,000 images on
the site and counting...fresh new images from
all over the world to fulfill your every need!
Royalty Free
We've had some clients asking about Royalty
Free images, and we're putting together an RF
collection of worldwide travel and nature.
Just know that it won't have as much depth
and breadth as the RM collection, but rather
will feature iconic images of a generic
nature. If you'd like to share anything
about your RF needs with us, please email us
at Danita@DanitaDelimont.com
We're doing our best to accommodate your
changing needs.
Mystery Weekend
We took the staff on a "Mystery Weekend" in July. We didn't tell them anything about where we were going, but rather that they should just pack an overnight bag and a passport and bring along a good attitude. We invited along a "Mystery Travel Photographer" to show us what it's like to work in the field on location. The more we understand about how our photographers work to capture the images, the better we can communicate with them to get you what you need. We all left on Friday morning and went over the northern border into Vancouver, British Columbia. We all learned what travel photographers do when it rains! We stayed on Granville island at one of our favorite hotels and ate "All You Can Eat Sushi", attended a "Theater Sports" production at the Granville Island Theater and also had a wonderful Malaysian dinner recommended to us by Peter Langer, one of our new photographers based there. Peter led us on a scouting frenzy of the local sites for a future shoot and we all had a fun escape.
Picture House
Dave and I went to Picture House in Chicago in April where we saw many of you from the Chicago area. It's always great to connect with our clients personally this way, so thanks for stopping by our booth if you did! For those of you unfamiliar with "Picture House" it's a venue that brings both buyers and photo sources together in an all day exhibition oriented venue. We've participated in Picture House New York for the past 4 years, Chicago for 2 years and now we'll be at Picture House in San Francisco on September 19th.
PACA
PACA National was held in Washington D.C. this year and again, we saw many of you there in conjunction with the ASPP programs that were going on that same weekend in May. PACA is the organization of stock agencies and by attending these meetings we continue to stay abreast of what's going on in that part of the industry. With many new pricing models coming on board (from many international photo providers in particular where the markets are very different), it's important to understand how their participation will or wont' effect our customers. Some of our clients have tried out a few of the Microstock sites, but have told us in the end they just don't have the quality and depth and breadth of content and keywording that they'll find with traditional specialty photo sources such as ourselves.
New Photographers and Collections
So, we continue to move along the stock agency road, putting up images that will be available for your various projects. We are thrilled to have more than 250 globally based photographers and more and more asking to be represented all the time. It's hard to find the time to edit all the great images coming our way!
Later this month, we'll be announcing a new collection of images that will also be of great interest to many of you.
Until then, we wish you a happy summer…get out and enjoy it while you can!
With best wishes,
-Danita
